The Lower Angel, Warrington

Was introduced to this pub by a chap I met in another pub in town. Really friendly place, old fashioned in a good way. On my first visit there the cellarman/brewer, Aidan, opened up the brewery and gave me a tour. Brilliant! I've been back half a dozen times, recently with my new other half. The place doesn't change, which is a good thing.

The Blackfriars, Inverness

Spent a week in the area with work, and called in every evening. Good selection of Scottish and English ales, good food, good company, and the licensees were very welcoming. Definitely worth a visit.

The Malt 'n' Hops, Chorley

Pretty much back as it was, one of the best pubs in the area, and the beer is now on consistently top form.
