The Blacksmiths Arms, Talkin

Busy, friendly pub. Old fashioned interior, decent food at very decent prices. Bedroom small but very clean and again a very good price. Quiet location near Talkin Tarn. All local ales were perfect. Would stay again if in area.

The Plough Inn, Hathersage

Stayed here last week. Lovely room. Really excellent food and ale and good staff. Will certainly stay here again.

The Guy Fawkes Hotel, York

Really dark and atmospheric inside, with candles and a Grandfather clock in the corner. Sitting by the window with a view of an old York street and The Minster you feel like you're in the 18th Century. Had about 8 ales on. Tried one which was perfect. Staff very friendly. Only downside was that the fires weren't on, which was very tight as it was -10 outside.
