The Charles Lamb, Angel, Islington

First and definitely not the last visit last Friday. Went with a friend who warned me that Fridays were busy - we went there to eat, and it was rammed. Arrived at 18.45 and it took a wee while to get served. I was thinking we should give it a miss. However, two tables came free - one for four, one for two, we headed for the table for two - if there are only two of you in a place this busy please don't take up a table for 4. The waitress was lovely, I then made a mess of the order at the bar, barman very patient. Food fantastic, and when we left the barman made an effort to catch our eye to say goodbye. Have to say the staff lifted this place out of the ordinary - despite how busy it was. Stunned that there are comments about rude staff. not my experience at all. The butter with celery salt was fab.
