Le Bateau Bistro, Parkstone

Went there for a works xmas meal and the food was awful, they should be ashamed to charge 20 a head for school dinner type food that would make Jamie Oliver weep over his raw veg.

On the plus side there is a good choice of lagers and it's not a bad place to go in the afternoon if the Triangle is closed, but it fills with the worst kind of loadsa money wannabes on weekend evenings - Avoid at these times.

The Angel, Poole

No atmosphere and like other reviewers I experienced the landlady serving the arriving locals before me even though I had been waiting ages, that is just rude.

The Ringwood ale is well kept though but if you like lager the choice is pitiful - carling AND fosters, surely you are spoiling us?

The Platform Tavern, Southampton

popped in for a lunchtime pint with a friend and we stayed well into the evening. the beer choice was limited but what they had was good, and a wide range of bar nibbles to choose from too. the real fire was a nice bonus.
