The White Horse, Shere

I was sceptical of the reviews here...I mean a lovely looking pub in a beautiful village - how wrong could it go? That was my biggest mistake. Next time I shall heed the advice here.

Greeted by an aggressive "are you eating" (yes) we were led to a table where we then proceeded to experience some of the most intense discourtesy ever shown to me as a customer. Asking reasonable questions such as "which ales do you have" resulted in rolling of eyes and gave us a distinct sense that they would rather be doing anything else than serving us.

The food I'm sure was heated in the microwave then crisped for 5 minutes in the oven. After our main course the our waitress came to ask "you want dessert?" then promptly asked her boss if she could go (it was 5pm) leaving no-one with any indication that we were waiting for our order to be taken.

Busy with planning our holidays we waited 15 minutes then gave up waiting and went to the bar to ask to pay. Begrudgingly we were allowed to do so. I guess location really is everything.
