The Aqueduct Inn, Froncysyllte

visited in july 2014 on a saturday lunchtime. Glorious weather, fantastic view over the canal, great choice of real ales on tap (and in excellent condition) plus knowledgeable and friendly staff - what more can you ask for!

The Royal Oak, Holmbury St Mary

Popped in for lunch and a beer - whilst the beer was good, food was a mistake. Pity, as people very friendly and a nice fire.

The Volunteer, Sutton Abinger

Had lunch here mid week. Good beer, warm friendly staff, lovely fires and excellent food. What more could you want for?

Plus you do feel you are in a pub rather than having a 'dining experience' where beer drinkers are somewhat out of place!
