The George, Hayes

We've been here 7 times since it's been done up and I've tried 6 different meals off the menu. Each meal has been fantastic - top quality ingredients, perfectly cooked and well-presented. Back in October, service was an issue as other have said but I can honestly say since then things have improved considerably. All staff are friendly, but professional and go out of their way to ensure the evening runs smoothly. They all also speak with knowledge and passion about the food and their work in general. We've taken advantage of a fair number of offers -top 20 wines for �10 a bottle, half price fizz on Thursdays and the prix fixe early evening special. For anyone who tried this place and disliked it I'd say give it another go - it really is fantastic food and we're well pleased to have such a lovely place within walking distance. As another poster has said it is more restaurant than pub now. And while some meals are expensive (�15+) there are lots around the �10 mark with some as cheap as �7.
