For one who has recently lost a Partner, this is a nice place to visit. I or we always apreciated 'good Pubs' with Atmosphere, you tick all the boxes, I can sit in a Corner look, listen & appreciate all that is still great about a Traditional Local, maybe one Day I'll involve

The Symonds Well, Epsom

Epsom is now seriously lacking in 'Traditional Hostilleries', this on the otherhand, 'appears' to be one of a Dying Breed,' First Glance' I may add. Once inside its, Cold, Lifeless,Overpriced, Shabby,Faint hint of Chip Fat, disguised by Cheap Air Fresh & Pure absence of Personality .Blokes at side Entrance allowed to Smoke almost instde. I give up,so I came Home to a nice Bottle of Red.My Wife passed away recently,( no Violins necessary), we loved Pubs. I shant name our 'Regular' Haunt, as its no longer with us, it was by no means an'Award winning Local' but could teach this place, and a few more a thing or two in the Hospitality Sakes.Best visited recently, to sit in a corner and enjoy, is, 'The Kings Arms', bit of a treck for me but worth it, purely for the Atmosphere & Banter you expect in a friendly well run Local.Take Stock, all us 'Avid Pub Goers' are aware of Beer Ties,Huge Rents,Increase in VAT, SKY TV Monopoly, but let me tell you, 'creating a Welcome COSTS NOTHING !' Is it any wonder the Big Chains are taking over ? I rest my case.
