Swan Inn, Weymouth

We were pleasantly surprised at this pub. We only 'risked' a chain as it looked so busy and popular. Fantastic range of ales (10 local and national ales on tap), The Ringwood Old Thumper was well kept (and at �1.99 a pint, great value). Plenty of other ales and lagers/wines from around the world. Very clean, quick service, despite being very busy, great value, sausage and mash �6.09), very tasty, BBQ chicken tasty and plentiful. Extras cheap, hot and tasty. V.G chocolate fudge cake! There were people of all age groups here from posh suited businessmen, to oldies and families, relaxing atmosphere.

The Ship Inn, Weymouth

Friendly staff, nice quiet corners if you want a chat, relaxing in the daytime. Food was a bit overpriced, Dorset apple cake was �4.95! Baguette �5.99, Balti Curry �9.99. Lovely views over the harbour. The HB lager was great, Tanglefoot better on the second day we visited. Good pub if you like Amy Winehouse which was playing on a constant loop system!

The Lodmoor, Weymouth

We stayed at the Premier Inn next door. Don't go here unless you are really tired and very hungry like we were. We went early Tuesday evening - it was dead. No real ales on offer at this time, only Tetley and Boddingtons etc. The food was over priced, tasteless, and my mate's burger was tough and burned. I was told by the barmaid that one of the veggies with my meal was unavailable, which I said wasn't a problem, the barmaid then came overand told me the potato dauphioise which was also meant to come with it was also unavailable! I was charged �7.99 for a tiny overcooked bit of tough chicken, four green boiled potatoes and some unpeeled undercooked carrots. It was not anything like what was originally described on the menu. You have been warned!
