The Britannia Inn, Elterwater

I adore this pub. A great start route for any number of wonderful circular routes in the hills and Langdale Valleys ... and an even better place to come back to! Always a good selection of ales, and the bar food is OK (actually the chicken curry on a baked spud eaten after popping up Silver How on a bitterly cold January day may be the nicest thing I've ever eaten!!). In the summer it can get a bit crowded with queues at the bar, but sitting outside in the sun with a pint is a particular pleasure at this pub.

Dog and Gun, Keswick

One of my favourite pubs in the UK. After a day's walking it's nice to come in, have a pint or two of delicious ale and a steaming bowl of the goulash.

The Guildford Arms, Edinburgh

Lovely pub ... the interior is stunning, and the beer always comes with a good variety and is well kept. One of my favourite Edinburgh Boozers.
