Had a great Sunday afternoon there. Superb pints of Tiger Rut, excellent sandwich, live band, friendly mixed clientele and good bar staff. comments about slightly worn decor (which add to the character of the pub) are irrelevant when all the best things about a pub are in place. We'll be returning there as soon as possible. Decent public transport links on the doorstep are a bonus too.

The Star Inn, Rochdale
Recent refub is tasteful, with some fascinating pictures of old Rochdale. Bizarre that one of the two Gents toilets only has one stand up urinal in it .
New licencees have settled in and are welcoming. As with all Sam Smiths pubs, the prices are the best going - �1.55 for a pint of hand pumped Old Brewery Bitter, which has been well kept on the recent occasions I've been in.
Worth a visit.
