Blue Dog Inn, Grantham

Extremely friendly welcome. Great range of well-kept beers and tasty, well-portioned food. Not surprising, given the name, very dog friendly - our spaniel was as impressed with the piece of sausage the bar staff gave her as we were with the food and beer.

Looking forward to returning when we are next in the area.

The Wheel Inn, Branston

Clean, popular pub comprising a small bar and larger area focused on dining. Staff were friendly and very welcoming, providing a high standard of service. The pub has three hand-pumps serving a changing range of real ales (Batemans XB was lovely) and a good wine list. I imagine the cellar is well maintained.

We were only able to eat once, but the food we had was delicious, well-presented and of a very high standard.

Really wish we had been able to visit more - hoping to visit in the summer and enjoy the garden.

The Goat Tavern, Piccadilly

Great little pub. Well kept real ale. IPA was very palatable and a bargain to boot. Lunch was good honest pub fare - filling and good value.
