The John O'Gaunt Inn, Hungerford

Massively improved under current management (Paddy and Steve). Always at least 6 real ales on tap, many from local brewers like Three Castles, Pewsey and Ramsbury. Excellent food, especially the Seychelles curry! Friendly and welcoming.

The only downside is that the building itself is badly in need of some TLC... which hopefully will happen when Greene King give up the lease next year.

Fine if you want to watch Sky Sports... otherwise nothing much to recommend. OK but over-priced beer, characterless and uninteresting place.

The Cornubia, Bristol

Visited for the first time this week... and enjoyed it so much I went back the next day. No experience of the trials and tribulations others have referred to, but it would certainly seem that the place is on form now. Great choice of beers, and ciders, and friendly efficient service, especially from the lady on Monday night. Couldn't have enjoyed it more.
