Blimey,they actually went and did it. Now refurbed & under new management. First impressions are good, could it be possible that Whitton's got a decent pub again?

The Winning Post, Whitton

Went there recently after their refurb and they've made a total horlicks of it losing cosy seating inside and installing too much bench-seating outside.

Where you were once able to sit outside & enjoy a relatively quiet family lunch you are now unable to fit a wheelchair (or even a buggy) between the seats. Guess they've tried to cram in more outside seating because of the smoking ban - at the expense of accessibility.

No point going back I suppose, oh well.

The Duke of Cambridge, Twickenham

Initially I was pleasantly surprised.

But on every occaision I've been there since the new landlords arrived...

* They've let the squaddies back in.
* Dogs have been allowed to run around in the "garden" area.

* & on the last two visits there's only been one lady serving behind the bar. She's really friendly and doesn't let anyone jump the queue but the poor thing's hopelessly overworked.

So last week I gave up and went elsewhere - had to wait ten minutes to be served which really isn't on.
