The Springhead, Sutton Poyntz

Me & my partner visited the springhead but wish we hadn`t.We ordered our meal and it arrived very quick as the pub was empty around 1pm.The food tasted ok but for what you pay you would expect better.The ale was good and thats about it.Two meals 1 pint & a coffee cost us �26.00.Not impressed we left to feed the ducks outside which was far better.A few days later we visited the springhead as to see if things were any better but no.We had fish & chips and was told that all the food was homemade etc.The fish was bought at iceland etc and was well cooked that when you put the fork into the fish it shattered.The chips were also out of a store and not cut on site etc.These 2 meals cost us �20.00.To be honest paying �20.00 for fish & chips is not cheap but to get something like what we received was a total waste of moeny.We have learnt our leson & if we visit again it would only be for the ale & feeding the ducks.Whilst we were eating our meal the chap to our right chair leg broke and he fell over,the lady in black behind the bar said i will get you another chair.
If you visit the springhead by all means drink the ale & bring some bread to feed the 50 ducks etc and dont forget your sandwiches.Overal we paid �54.00 and come away from here twice wishing we did not eat.High prices and low quality food.
