Bulls Head, Boreham Street

A real gem of a Harvey's pub; Hadlow, Best & Old all in very good condition. Food is reasonably priced and good as well. Definately recommended.

Flora Sandes, Thornton Heath

Having used this pub on occaisons over the years, I was utterley bemused about a change of policy form family dining. At 7.30 in the evening it is now unacceptable for anyone under 18 to eat. I was yold that this is now national policy - no mention on the JDW website. Iwas told that tthere was a notice on the door - this only refered to the childrens menu 'suitable for up to 10 years old'. The youngest of our party was 16. The duty manager tried to fob me off with changes to the law, children certificates etc. This does not explain how most proper pubs serving food manage to be far more welcoming to all.

Fish Hotel, Buttermere

The Fish is a bit of a disappointment, at least in winter, only open Thursday pm to Monday lunch in February. Only two of the handpumps in use on both occasions we were there. The large bar was sparsely populated. Must be better in Summer!
