The Hopbine, Cambridge

Added this pub to the St Radegund end of the King Street run on a Saturday lunchtime as we needed food and had seen it mentioned in the local CAMRA newsletter. Food was good and reasonably priced, staff were frieendly and the beers were pretty good too. In addition to GK IPA we sampled the Caledonian Old Sea Dog and Woodfordes Wherry, both well kept. There are plenty of Betty Boop items on display - we didn't ask why though! The pubby front bit is supplemented by a fairly large back room for music.

The Red Lion, Histon

beer drinkers paradise really - quality beers, loads of pump clips, cabinets full of interesting bottles and walls covered in breweriania. Burton Bridg Damson Porter in fine form. wish we'd had more time here!

Elm Tree, Cambridge

Ten beers - really nice Springhead was my choice but many others looked tempting. Advertises Hairy bar staff and sems to be a bit hippified which was just fine by me! we arrived mid powercut on saturday afternoon and there was a good crowd making their way through the ales on tap. Great boozer.
