The Clock House, Teddington

This pub is a disgrace. It is deeply saddening to see what clearly once was a charming public house - and one that could easily be so again with some care and attention - falling into such a shambolic state. Not only is it such an eyesore inside and out, it is a badly run establishment with the resulting undrinkable beer, less than ordinary food and tasteless clientele. With a change of management this has the potential to be a great pub - and that does not mean gutting the place of all its hidden character and cramming it full of sofas. It needs a very thorough yet sympathetic decorate, a complete change of staff, updated facilities, a decent selection of well kept ales, removal of the horrid big screen and a menu of traditional, freshly cooked pub grub. So much potential - a pity it is currently such a depressing embarrassment.
