Watermans Arms, Totnes

This is a great little local, with a fine selection of real ales. I kept going back. Very friendly manager and staff. It has a real fire and has many regulars. If you don't like a lively pub in the evenings with great conversation, music and a good mix of young and old, then this pub is not for you. But for me it was my favourite pub for local atmosphere. I drank, Otter ale and Doombar both very tasty ales. on my second visit, the bar team even remembered what I was drinking , making me feel very relaxed and just like one of their regulars. extremly warm welcome from the friendly staff .

The Albert Inn, Totnes

I love this pub, more importantly I love their real ales, all brewed on site. In my modest opinion, they brew the the best real ale in Totnes (and one of the best in the UK) and I have sampled UK ales from all over the country. I first found this pub using a Campain for Real Ale (CAMRA), good beer guide map. I have mainly visited when visiting my relatives but it is always one of my first points of call. I mainly visit during the day and like many of the local pubs, it is very quiet, with only a couple of locals in but the bar staff are always friendly and informative. The locals are welcoming and always ready to impart any local info that you require. I drank the AA (Albert ale) and (Relativity), very tasty real ale. In the evenings they have quiz nights and great food deals. I wish I could take the pub back home with me, it's a great local.
