Whilst there are a multitude of alternatives, this is my favourite haunt at lunchtime. It's not huge, there's no food and it can get busy in peak trading (especially if it's raining), but the beer is kept in outstanding condition. I hate to think how many pints I have had in here and not one has been ropey.

The Horse and Groom, Rushlake Green
Beautiful pub, somewhat spoiled by overpriced food and dog mess absolutely everywhere in the garden. The pub's Labradoodle roams freely, so worth a look if you like dogs and their faeces.
