The Chemic, Woodhouse

Unabashed I am happy to declare that I love this place. Small but not cramped and with two rooms, the rear-most of which often sees small groups of musicians put on impromptu performances. As noted previously this pub isn't on the warpath of students either Otley Running or out to cause a rumpus, indeed the only students likely to be found in there are of the quieter variety that are looking for a decent pint, or looking for a place to create some music. Beers are kept well and prices are reasonable, the Tim Taylors comes highly recomemded; and as an extra bonus you can buy the odd Twix, if you're into that kind of thing.

The Halfway House, Barnes

Slightly tucked away but all the better for it. Landlord is friendly and bar staff are not your typical disaffected youth, quite refreshing. Does have some excellent music nights. The Gents was clean, although there was a criminal lack of paper.

The Prince of Wales, Pimlico

Nipped in for a quick pint while passing through the area. First impressions weren't great, rather tired pub throughout and staff didn't seem awfully happy to see someone in a suit. As noted previously this is very much a regulars pub, and while it's not uncomfortable being an outsider it's not the kind of place I would go if alone and just looking for a place for a quick beer. Indeed, the free WiFi is not well advertised and I get the impression that breaking out a laptop would draw a few funny looks. Prices were on the high side of average: 3.10 for a Kronenbourg.
