The Chainlocker and Shipwrights, Falmouth

This was a fine pub gone so downhill. The cask was eye-watering overpriced and it tasted like vinegar. My wife phoned. I told her how much i paid for the acetic acid whilst stood at the bar in full earshot of the barmaid. The barmaid looked embarrassed and ran off to the other side of the pub. Not good.

Sippers, Plymouth

Used to be a wonderful place some years ago. More recently i called in for one drink awaiting a ferry and met some colleagues who'd been in there a lot longer. They weren't impressed with the landlord so one or them repaid him by buying some pickled eggs from behind the bar and feeding them straight to the friendly bulldog. It loved them. Apparently bulldogs are renown for their smelly flatulence under normal circumstances. I'd hate to have been in there a couple of hours later when the pickled eggs were working their magic!

The Hare and Hounds, Leigh

Went place for first time in ages and wondered what it's like these days. It used to be a nice pub. Glad i didn't call in - Just read in Wigan paper about a woman on 6.11.11 biting another woman's ear off !
