The Clock House, East Dulwich

Popped over to E D to see a friend who's just moved in the neighbourhood. Stayed the night and then on Sunday afternoon perambled down to the Clockhouse, which my friend said did superb sunday lunches.

He was right. The decor may be iffy, but nicely rarely beef and proper roasts and gravy that doesn't come out of a packet.......served by pleassant staff who seem to care about the place they work. doesn't come any better on a hungover sunday!!!

The Grove, Balham

I went to the grove the other day and found the whole experience utterly delightful. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the staff in a warm and welcoming way and was served immediately by someone who seemed genuinely pleased to serve me. She recommended several items on the menu to which my partner and I chose. They were delicious and served with a smile! I had the BBQ Chicken Pita with Mozzerella and Bacon and my partner had the Steak, all were cooked just as we liked it even though we had several specifications.
The beer was delicious as was the house red.
I would recommend this pub to anyone as a most relaxing establishment with the winter fire going it is the perfect place to unwind!
