The Old Wheatsheaf, Enfield

A once fantastic pub with a loyal local clientele and bundles of character has been turned into an absolute disgrace by the current landlord.
The decor is stale with filthy upholstery and carpets and the toilets are so disgusting the stench travels into the bar area but instead of spending money on the items that desperately need it, the landlord spends thousands of pounds on a shelter for smokers (rumoured to be 20k) and five plasma TV's. This is a small pub and there is no place to stand or sit where you are not in full view of a TV.
The bar staff are surly. scruffy and unprofessional and now the landlord has taken it upon himself to put up the prices presumably to pay for the ridiculous amount of TV's.
For the geniuses that will say if you don't like it then drink somewhere else, i do, along with many other regulars that have been using this pub for more than twenty years. I have no desire to trash this pub just for the sake of it but hope that someone will listen to these comments and restore it to its former glory.
I can only assume that the positive reviews of this pub are from the landlord and his family as no one could seriously recommend this pub.
