The Dolphin, Betchworth

I totally agree with some of the previous comments, i live in Dorking and have been coming to the pub on & off for a a few years now.The setting is fantastic along with the beer too & I actually like to eat there, However the food was great, it seemed to change for the better around Easter time. I took the family there back in the summer & it was absolutely great, fab salads & some great specials we all had a great time. I went back last towards the end of september, the food choice had dropped, i asked the guy behind the bar and was told the Chef was working in other pubs whilst the building work was underway..so it all made sense. There is a heavy presence of locals, which never bothered me too much But had noticed the presence of "The drunken landlady" who looked worst for wear, sat outside smoking!! Not the best advert for the pub!! I am hoping that things will change when it re-opens and the Chef with his great specials returns!! waiting in anticipation!!
