The Three Stags, Lambeth
Great place and great folks running it. The food is quite good (we ate there a # of days when we were in London) and everything was top-notch. The chefs really are taking steps above what you get in most other spots. Got to say, I had a meal at the Eagle (gastropub mecca), which was great, but thought the food at the Three Stags was better.
The location is also great too. A three minute walk from the tube station (Lambeth I think), with the War Museum on the other side of the street.This means that there is effectively open green space running along one whole side of the pub, making for lots of sunshine during the day. Also, the pub is a short walk from the Eye and thus everything central, so people out and about can get there easily.
Overall, highly recommended.
