Profile information

My name is Derek Griffin. I am Scottish Ive been down in London since 1998. I work in an office in the city but its a bit boring. What I love to do in my spare time is going on a big walk it doesnt matter were. It could be London or in the countryside and then finding a nice pub at the end of it. As I think you have earned a drink and enjoy it all the more. I like traditional pubs with a bit of character. I think its sad especially in the East end when once there was hundreds of pubs alot of them have closed down. I know this is a sign of the times but I dont always think its progress. Cheers for now.

The Three Tuns, York

Nice little (Or not so little boozer) as it is quite a long pub this one I stopped by here for a few pints after a big walk. A bit dark and dingy but thats how proper old style pubs should be. Worth a visit.

The Marlborough Head, Marble Arch

Good proper decent size boozer, if you ever happen to be stuck in Oxford street and you need some respite this is a good place to seek sanctuary away from all the hustle and bustle. Looks good after the refurb. Be warned though if your sitting in the bar at the back of the pub up the stairs they do table service so it maybe difficult to move on from this pub.

Nell of Old Drury, Covent Garden

This is a nice wee pleasant unpretentious boozer right in the heart of theatre area. I like pubs like this non nonsense you know what your getting. Good selection of beer and also if you want you can bring your own sandwiches as they dont sell food. We need more West end boozers like this.
