The Horse and Groom, Great Warley

Tried the pub, not very welcoming from the outside, bright lights, no curtains, big signs for food & entertainment...and a tree growing out of the roof.
Inside not too bad...but no different to any other local pub. On the night I was there...we had background music, the TV on and karaoke.....not a place for meeting to drink & chat !!....please look at how successful the Thatchers Arms & the Essex Arms are and re-think ...please look at your pub from outside. What would make YOU drink in there?

You could have a brilliant pub by attracting real ale drinkers, dog walkers from Thorndon Park, coffee mornings instead of the very few young lager drinkers you are obviously aiming for........I would give you six months and like the Queen Alexander...be yet another British pub that becomes a housing estate.

The Essex Arms, Brentwood

This little pub does a wonderful Sunday roast. Nothing fancy just very good food.
Nice fresh veg selection cooked to perfection. Kate & I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the beer was good as well.
If you fancy having a good ale and a lovely Sunday lunch , then put this place on your list.
Regards to all Dave N Kate

The Swan, Brentwood

was a brilliant proper pub with an excellent selection of ales, lager & good bar snacks all being served by happy staff.Pub games & music with a mixture of random seating...then it was refitted and became a normal 'lager' pub..just like all the others on the high st...just ok now
