The Giffard Arms, Wolverhampton

If you like good music (rock, metal, and those of the ilk), you should love the Giffard Arms. It's Wolverhampton's "alternative" HQ, and although it gets friendlier the more regularly you go there, a warm welcome will await most first-timers too - you don't have to "fit in" (unless you want to go to the weekly goth night upstairs on a Saturday). The staff are really great, true characters - and there's usually a good guest ale on. Personally, I highly recommend this place, but some people are easily put off.
