The Three Stags, Lambeth

This pub has a wonderful ambience. Although previous reviewers have complained it is too dark, it really depends what you are looking for.
When I visited here I found a smooth, relaxed candlelit atmosphere that was perfect to sit and share drinks with friends. We also had food which is reasonably priced considering the location and that all the menu is made with an green conscience.
I would not describe the food as pretencious either - it is a good balance of traditional pub food and also caters for customers such as ourselves who wanted brilliant tasting food that is a little less ordinary and tastes wonderful (I had the risotto).
I had no problems with the staff on my visit and had the pleasure of meeting the management who were more than happy to talk about the drinks and food in detail plus a few worldly discussions!
Had a fantastic evening and felt very at home here. If you haven't visited before I highly recommend giving it a go (though perhaps leave the newspaper and bring a few friends along instead)!
