The Old Queens Head, Penn
We live near the Alford Arms and had high hopes for the OQH but sadly it wasn't to be. The menu reads well but the food did not live up to the descriptions and was not done well. The meat was tough, the veg was overcooked and seasoning seemed missing altogether.
Our dishes seemed to generally have a lot of water in them [gravy, veg, sauces etc] which suggests they'd been sitting around under covers for a while.
The service was good and we had no other qualms but as we went for the food it was a disappointing experience.
