The Rose and Crown, Elham

The Rose and Crown in Elham, Kent is a great pub with plenty of character in a very pleasant village. It has accommodation in large pleasant rooms.

The bar staff are friendly and efficient as is the Landlord, David Fourniller.

However, the high point of our stay was the Caribbean food which was quite simply, one of the best meals I have had in a long time. There were five in our party, four of us had Caribbean dishes, but we all agreed, the food was excellent.

The Old Thameside Inn, London Bridge

Great place to sit outside, if you can get a seat!

The Cartoonist, Holborn

The Cartoonist, until recently, had been a poorly run pub with little to recommend it. It has now been taken over by a Publican of 30 years experience. The result is a much improved pub.

The beer is well cared for and excellent. A particular novelty is the availability of Bankss Bitter on tap, a beer brewed in Wolverhampton I havent seen before in London. Also available is Harveys Sussex Best Bitter and Marstons Pedigree.

A good selection of food is on offer and priced to make it good value for the money.

The bar area is spacious with an additional basement bar and seating areas outside.

Graham, the publican, is friendly and welcoming.

A great pub, destined to get even better.
