The Roebuck Inn, Wickham

We were staying at the local Caravan Club and were a bit confused on reading ken bishop's latest comment. The comments book on local restaurants back at the park had nothing but glowing comments on The Roebuck and then we noticed his remarks on here and very nearly didn't bother to go along. I am so pleased we ignored his remarks. The Roebuck was all the other 17 people said it was - A warm and friendly welcome., amazing food, (try the fillet steak, it's out of this world) and very friendly and attentive service. Yes, the drinks aren't dirt cheap, but I don't think they were at all excessive. We paid 4.95 for a large (and I mean very large) glass of Merlot and 3.45 (not 3.95) for a pint of Strongbow. We travel a lot and I think the last reviewer forgets that prices in Somerset are always going to be cheaper than prices in Hampshire. It's a fact! Give The Roebuck a try. We're very pleased that we did and will be returning when we come back next month.
