The Fox and Hounds, East Knoyle

With a car full on the way to a music festival, this was a very pleasant alternative to the little chef on the A303 that we were going to stop at! Had it not been for the painted sign, directing drivers down the little country road to get there, we wouldn't have known about it.
Friendly staff, 3 real ales on (a couple of Palmers ales, can't remember the other) thatchers cheddar valley on tap, the fish and chips is the lunch to go for! delicious batter and much better portions than most of the other meals i could see around us.

I imagine the 'garden' (small field!) across the road from the front of the pub is very inviting in the summer.

The Rake, London Bridge

Was tipped off about this gem by a worker of the Utobeer stall in the market.
A massive range of bottled beers (and correct accompanying glasses!), the couple of ales on tap were also tasty and in good nick.

It's so small, but that's what I loved, the knowledgeable barman Tony and the two barmaids there were excellent company! Birthday traffic light shots on the house were a nice surprise! ;-)
