The Bull, London Colney

The beer (especially the black sheep) is the reason I always come back to this place. It is evident the owners take great pride in the pub, the customers and in particular the beer. I literally had about a quarter of my pint and the landlady took it off me (I thought it was fine) but they did not think it was up to standard and replaced it with a full fresh pint. Now that is great service!!!! They are accomodating to individual people's needs such as wanting a jug glass.
The decor is a typical traditional pub but I mean that as a great compliment with a selection of games in the corner. So my friends and I always have a game of cards or dominos. It is filled with nice regulars who always say hello (and the occasional dog). The only trouble is that sometimes you cant get a seat because this pub is so popular amongst ale drinkers and regulars.
It is my favourite pub in the area, hence why I am having my stag do here because I will be guaranteed fantastic beer and a brilliant atmosphere.

Fox Inn, Elworth

This place got taken over a couple of years ago and it has improved significantly. The staff are always polite and accomodate to the little things that regulars like (I.e. their particular style of glass). There is a choice of up to 4 ales (Tetley's, Pedigree,Bombardier and a guest). Personally I wish the Black sheep they have had a guest was permanent, but that is my only criticism. The beer is kept very well and good value. Sports wise it usually shows football but if you ask for the rugby (on terestial or on Sky if not a big football game) they will always put it on for you with no fuss.

The Crown, St Albans

Went here to watch the british lions test matches. could not have asked for better service or atmoshpere or cleanliness. The several TVs and screens meant that you could have easily found a good viewing spot. The bar maid was friendly and quick at serving during the game and at half time. No over the top rowdiness or agro like you can get with football. Will definitly watch all future rugby games here.
