The Half Moon, Putney

I'm surprised at the coment below. Out of all of London's pub music venues the moon is one of the best run and it's strong reputation is well deserved. It's a fantastic and friendly venue to drink at, and to play at too if you're in a band. And it's the only music venue of it's kind left in south west london, all the others are in camden and shoreditch these days. keep up the good work guys.

The Railway, Putney

I actually witnessed a glassing incident here involving two men in their 60's, on an early saturday afternoon. Surreal. It won't be long before it holds that precious top spot in the Borough's worst pub chart. Come on The Railway, you can do it!

The Spencer Arms, Putney

Was the Putney Page, now back to the old name. The reason it's called the 'Spencer', trivia fans, is because the common is owned by the Earl Spencer i.e. Lady Diana Spencer's brother. And while I'm at it, the reason the late Cyclist's Rest opposite was so called, is because this part of Putney had Europe's first concrete velodrome (bicycle track). The volodrome was demolished in the early 20th century to make way for luxury housing. The pub was demolished in the early 21st century to make way for luxury flats.
