The Bricklayers Arms, Shoreditch

I think the only people that have reviewed this place have serious issues with the people of shoreditch. I have been coming to this pub on and off for the last 10years. And it always provides a good pint with freindly service. The jukebox is consistently good. And the occasional weirdos you encounter make this place much better. We want more of these establishments in Shoreditch rather than sterile bars that seem to be emerging trying to be part of the Shoreditch scene. Ignore the low rating above - and enjoy a couple of pints in here with the eclectic mix of peeps.

The Dragon, Hoxton

This is one of my favouite local bars - starts the evening in Hoxton nicely or finishes the evening nicely. I only wish this place was open later (well I wish that about all bars around Old Street).
Good crowd most days (not always but then again that is the vibe of Old Street). Good Selection of Drinks and a superd atmosphere.

Vertigo 42, City Of London

Book in advance - make sure you request your favourite view of london otherwise they will sit you the wrong way. The Drinks aren't as overpriced as you would think - although not as cheap as they could be - but this is London and your 420ft above street level - so you can't really complain. Great place for a 2nd or 3rd date - it makes them putty in your hands as long as they have never been up there before.
