The Pitcher and Piano, Mayfair

I am a big fan of Pitcher and Piano bars and have spent quite a large amount of time in them! With this one you get the good service you would normally expect. My only complaint is the building itself. Hardly any natural light and very hot and stuffy throughout the summer.

Annie's, Barnes

My husband and I wanted to treat my parents to a nice meal somewhere in Barnes to thank them for our recent wedding. It is with great regret that we chose to book at Annie's. On arrival, all was looking favorable. Nicely decorated interior with good lighting and nice outside tables. The initial disapointment started when we waited by the desk, ignored for over 5 minutes by the waiting staff. Following this, we were seated 1.5 metres from the bar yet it took over 45 minutes for all the drinks to come at different intervals. When the main meals arrived, my mother did not even have the 1st glass of wine that she ordered. In reality, this would not have been the end of the world but the utterly disdainful attitude of the waiting staff when we mentioned we were still waiting for this drink was unbeleivable! The food was average and my husbands 'medium-rare' steak still had a pulse. We all left feeling that we had hugely inconvenienced the wait staffs evening by mearly showing up and expecting a
decent experience. Needless to say we will not be coming back!
