The Haymakers, Chesterton

The Haymakers was one of the reasons we moved into this area, so close to home, with a rugged feel, live music. Then we found it was a bit glum, so headed to Green Dragon instead. But it reopened, and in the hands of the Milton Brewery, it is warmer, cleaner, more furnished than ever before. The music that we recently heard was great, in the background enough to continue to talk, but there enough to listen if you wanted to. The people who go there are chilled and happy, the food is (even with their limited capability now that they are still waiting for gas to arrive) brilliant, the beers are top quality as always, and the staff are as friendly and professional as we were used to in the Devonshire Arms.
A great pub, that bodes well for the whole area, which is slowly starting to come back to life. There is even a cycling parts shop next door now!
