The Cross Keys, Covent Garden

We must have caught them on an off night as when we popped in there was only Citra available - all the other beers were off. I'm not really a fan so we left after the one, but will give it another try as it's a nice place and they obviously make an effort with the hanging baskets

Paper Mill, Hemel Hempstead

This pub has a great location, but the staff are so poor that I won't be going back. I went twice over this weekend. On Friday evening we wanted to try the new Hope and Glory proudly advertised on one of the pumps, only to be told that it wasn't available until tomorrow - ther sign was turned round following this conversation.

I went back on Sunday afternoon for another go. Stood at the not-particularly busy bar for 15 mins while the barstaff picked people to serve seemingly at random (or possibly on the basis of the number of visible tatoos). Eventually gave up, as did several other would-be punters. There was a local canal festival on at the time, but the management hadn't put on enough staff to cope with the fairly modest number of visitors, and those they did have were completely inept. Pity.

The White Horse, Hedgerley

Stopped in for lunch a couple of Saturdays ago and was very impressed with the food, range of beers, staff, and garden. Will definitely be going back.
