Duke of Edinburgh, Wood Green

This was once a great pub, fantastic Turkish food, really nice outside area and great atmosphere.

What has happened is that the people who run it think you can keep a pub going without any attention at all. The outside area is now broken and run down, the furniture is shabby and dirty. The menu is reduced and the quality is slipping. It's not a bad pub as such, it's just very bad compared to the way it was.

The Stag, Hastings

Excellent food, very high quality, well presented and amazing value for money. I really could eat here 7 nights a week.

Apart from that a very friendly pub with locals that are happy to chat to strangers and make them feel welcome. A lot of events such as live music, which is really well done and very intimate, (the players just sit around one of the larger tables).

I really liked this pub, it's a real pub with loads of character and stands in stark contrast to the soulless chain pubs that are all clones of each other.

The Crown, Broxbourne

The food is very poor, it's pre made/pre packaged and then microwaved before being served to you type of food as offered up by many other chain pubs. However where the food here differs from many other chain pubs is that it is twice the price.

The pub is a lovely location and has a very nice seating area outside, if it's a basket of chips and a pint while out walking you are after then this pub offers nice surroundings to do that in. If you are looking a nice evening meal then don't come here
