The Roebuck, Richmond Hill

Great location at the top of Richmond Hill and nice cosy little interior.

However, the service is horrible; unfriendly, cold, serious and impolite really quite unwelcoming. When I went there no other customers were waiting but two or three barstaff were just talking, they didn't rush themselves but still made me wait a minute or so. There was no 'hi' or 'what can I get you'. Instead I was just looked at, to which I gave my order. He didn't ask if I wanted anything else but I had to quickly order another drink for my friend. He then asked for the money without saying please. Bear in mind that up to that point where he asked for the money, he hadn't uttered a single word to me. I then tried to start a conversation to which he did reply but instead of continuing he quickly rushed back to the other person behind the bar.

This place has got everything going for it, but the service stinks and really lets it down. Whatever happened to friendly, cheery bar staff? They exist no longer, esp. in this pub, a bit of a sign of how London now is as a whole.

By the way, the pub is known as The Roebuck, but the sign outside just 'Roebuck', what happened to the 'The' ?

The Kings Tun, Kingston Upon Thames

Really appalling service, slow and unenthusiastic. The manager needs to teach his staff about service and dealing properly with customers. But I suppose service is not important if the pub is already busy; no incentive to improve. I shall not be returning because of the bad attitude of the staff here. They don't want to serve you and when (or if) they do it is with a sense of unwillingness and unfriendliness. You really wonder if they are that unwilling to do their job properly and treat ALL customers well (not just the ones they like or fancy), they shouldn't be employed there. I hope Weatherspoons realise that shoddy and unfriendly service is not going to encourage you to return.

The products are the same as most Weatherspoons but the actual pub is dark and dingy even on a summer's day. Not pleasant. Really if this was the last pub left in Kingston, or London, it would still not be worth visiting.
