The Parrot, Canterbury

This is in the top 10 best pubs I have ever visited. Used to be called Simple Simon's and is now called the Parrot. We were visiting town when a few old chaps at the Weatherspoons send us to the best pub in town - The Parrot. Down this little alley and around the corner and not as cheap - but well worth the find. Place is combined from 3 old buildings from 1000 years ago or something. Quality of the beer was top notch. I had a tribute, my mate had and incubus, and I had one of the youngs beers and I think bomardier - all were as fresh as you'll get. Staff great - hung out with the guy at the bar, and the locals. One guy gave me his lighter, which was over the top. Excellent huge garden outback, with a fire pit. We sat in the sun for awhile, very chill. If I could have stayed forever, I probably would have. I've rated 30 pubs on this site, and this is the only one I'll give a 10. Go here.

The Cherry Tree, Canterbury

This place is alright, nothing too spectacular. I liked the tables outside but my beer wasn't great. Bit smelly on the inside, but I think it's cause they were cooking something earlier on. Felt like a fine local, had some charm to it. Friendly enough staff person.

Thomas Ingoldsby, Canterbury

Was in last week. I have to say for a weatherspoons it was pretty good. All the guest ales I had were fresh and tasty, interesting crowd. Good service, good prices. Better than a lot of pubs I been too really. Lucky enough to meet a few older chaps that sent us to the best pub in town (The Parrot) so I'll have fond memories of this pub and the people I met. I'd stop back here in a heartbeat.
