The Bailey, Highbury

The Bailey used to be a great pub, but poor management regularly changing hands over the last 2/3 years has seen it deteriorate to a mediocre boozer. Busy on Fridays with office workers and the only other times are during Arsenal matches.

I would recommend a walk to Highbury Corner and visit the Hen & Chickens or Alwynne as a much better alternative.

The Henry Holland, Marylebone

A few friends and I found ourselves at the Henry Holland after 11pm on a Friday recently and it had a great atmosphere! Admittedly, we were well on the way, but the staff were friendly and those in there were all singing along to the music (an iPhod I think, no jukebox).

I really enjoyed it but maybe I saw it through rose tinted beer goggles.....

TS77 - I'm guessing your glass is permanently half empty?!

Mabel's Tavern, Euston

One of the better pubs in the area and doesn't suffer too badly from the close proximity to a major train station.

I've eaten there twice and it's been a average.... certainly not good value for money but maybe I was just unlucky.

Decent pub for watching football too....
