The Moon & Sixpence, Hanwell

We visited the Moon and sixpence recently with some friends. Having travelled up from London we were looking forward to a meal in this recently refurbished restaurant / bar. Service was awful - rude, impersonal and completely sub standard. The refurbishment wasn't evident with no real atmosphere or warmth to the place. I understood why when we eventually managed to attract the attention of the waiter and asked for a table we were (reluctnatly)told he'd check and come back - he didn't bother! We left shortly after our drinks as the service was so unwelcoming. No amount of paint can patch up the snooty, pretentious and over affected front of house. Avoid at all costs!
