I am a beer lover, gradually moving from the period of my life where all that matters is long opening hours, lots of 'birds' and the cheapest pint into one where I care about decent beer, friendly staff, and a good atmosphere.
I rarely judge a place on its food unless its terrible, but will mention if its good or better.
Please don't be offended if I laugh at comments like 'my Carling tasted awful' I just find lager drinkers trying to be discerning slightly hilarious. Of course that Sh*te tatsted awful!
Which is not to say I never drink it however...

lovely pub that caters well to the tourists (me) and local alike.
Five pumps with a couple of not so common beers on - Loddon and Gadds.
food looked good but was getting a curry so didnt try it

I eould be a bit suspicious of comment below, and no not because its a woman talking about football but because it reads like a total advert and the poster has made no other reviews. RIP the tup - decent beer and loads of rugby.
this place just seems like such a bland replacement perfectly pitched for the boring balham professional couples who wouldn't know a good night out if it slapped them across the face. wish someone would try something different round here, until then I'll be at the Hope where at least you can get some decent beer!
