The Wheatsheaf, Biggleswade

Functional, a bit pokey. Admittedly, I didn't try the beer, but the Greene King IPA/Abbot will either be alright or not alright, which isn't saying much. I'm sure it's a fabulous pub and the craic is good, but I'm not really a craic addict.

Engineers Arms, Henlow

The best pub in the world. A shrine to the hop, with every drinker's need catered for. From the food to the plentiful supply of quiz books, the quirky interiors, free aftershave in the gents and, naturally, a seriously fine selection of ales - this is the zenith of licensed premises. It gets a 9 because 10 seems like closure.

The White Hart, Biggleswade

This is Alpha Male/Alpha Female territory. Alcohol is a means to an end here. Dark and threatening, like a clenched fist. One Greene King IPA handpump is bad enough, but three? In a row?! Someone here either has OCD or no imagination. Not for the faint-hearted.
