Good Intent, Westbourne

Summer 2009,popped in here for a pint whilst passing through.
Time 1230, custommers NIL.
Ordered pint bitter (real ale) tasted vile and stated so. Offered replacement, opted for a bottle of lght ale. The bottle was nearly 12 months OUT OF DATE, so left.
No price list displayed, so treat this watering hole with caution!

The Bird In Hand, Lovedean

Great watering hole. Quiet during the day ( winter months) but well supported by the diners.
Well kept beer (real ales) excellent pint of Guinness, my tipple.
The staff are just about the best, friendly with constant smiles and banter, nothing is too much for this well trained crew.
At last we have management that is hands on, hence the on going success of this country pub/restaurant.
The food is top notch, maybe on the more expensive side BUT, you get what you pay for...it's excellent. GREAT Sunday lunches.
Large gardens that is a real hit during the summer months.
Well behaved children and pets are welcome...at last a good pub where I can take the dog.
This is where the FA cup was kept during the war years, Portsmouth having won it in 1939.
In my opinion, the BEST pub in the area.
I think the Real Ale buffs will approve. So too the food connoisseur.

The Froddington Arms, Fratton

Shame to see this pub go into decline. Great boozer through the ninties, Great footie days...wot ever happened to Rob & Sue and the topless barmaid Cara?
