A good food connoisseur. Like to be treated with respect. Will leave a good tip for good service. Don't like being rushed away from my table as soon as I put my dessert spoon down. Hate loud music so I have to shout at my companions, Hate game machines. Be polite to me and we will get on fine. Be rude to me and expect a sharp tongued putdown. Otherwise I have a superb sense of humour and a dirty laugh to go with it.

The Kingsdon Inn, Somerton

A beautifully restored pub, following the horrendous fire which razed it to the ground. Always my favourite venue pre-fire, and certainly not disappointed post-fire. A fantastic menu catering for all tastes, and always a pleasant surprise when you get the bill. Cheerful staff always willing to please diners. Chef always willing to alter a dish if you do not like a component (like a spicy sauce) and he knows just how to cook a "blue" steak. Make sure you book well in advance if you want to celebrate a special day to avoid disappointment. Every meal is a tasty delight. A clean venue that has a cosy atmosphere. Outside tables for a hot summer day or evening. Well worth a visit, and well behaved dogs are welcome.

Dinnington Docks, Hinton St George

An incredibly noisy pub, be prepared to shout at your companions. Olde worlde, out of the way, but easy to find with an ordance survey map. Clean. A good varied pub menu. Be prepared to wait for your meals. We went on a saturday night, it was heaving, a large screen TV was on at one end and the footie fans were well involved vocally. There was just one lady serving at the bar and taking food orders. Only two overworked girls were serving meals & clearing tables. We waited over 20 minutes for our starters, but they were nice when they eventually arrived. We waited over 30 minutes for our main course, which was tasty and enjoyable, but the curry portion was stingy. We ordered dessert and again waited for over 20 minutes, when it still hadn't arrived we were not amused to see two other tables served their dessert before us yet they had ordered after us. We waited a further 10 minutes, then cancelled the desserts. Paid and left. If the long wait between courses were deliberate to make us consume more drinks, it does not work with us. The train noise gimmick is a giggle so long as you are not sat by a loud speaker, very painful on the old ears. The menu was varied and reasonably priced. More staff is definately needed. Yes we would go again.
