The Railway Hotel, Hornchurch

This is one of the better pubs in hornchurch. Its clean, serves a good pint, and attracts a better type of customer. (no yobs or trouble makers). It not long ago had a refurb but still kept its old charm. Defintatley worth a look whilst waiting at hornchurch station.

The Elm Park, Elm Park

This pub has to be one of the worst in the area. Popped in there the other day whilst waiting for a train. Its the pits. Its a massive pub with only about 6 people in it. I think that speaks for itself. It was dirty, unfriendly and not somewhere I would consider going back to! The locals looked like there were all related and on benefits! (you know the type) Definatley somewhere to avoid!

The Chequers Inn, Hornchurch

This used to be my local for many years when Bill was the landlord. It had a warm welcome and a great pint. I went back there for the first time in ages since it came under "new management", the pub is only a 5min walk from my house and I fancied a quick pint. I wish I'd stayed at home! The pubs now in a fairly poor state of repair, could do with a lick of paint and a good scrub. Its a shame to let such a good pub go to ruin! Theres now a group of really loud yobs at the bar, egged on by the new landlord, who doesn't seem to know how to run a pub, probably his first go at it I think? I drink a pub down the road now, better pint, better atmosphere, and clean as a whistle!
